Legal
Rules

How voting, submitting, and ranking actually work on aboard — separate from the Terms of Service, which covers the legal side of using the site.
Submitting a product
- One submission per product. Duplicate listings for the same product (even under a different name) get merged or removed.
- The name, category, link, and description must accurately describe a real, working product — no placeholder or "coming soon" listings.
- You need a GitHub or Google account to submit, and the account you submit with is shown as the listing's submitter.
- New submissions appear on the board immediately — there's no manual review queue right now. That may change if it becomes necessary.
- Listings that are spam, broken, misleading, or otherwise against the Terms of Service get removed without notice.
Voting
- One account, one vote, per product. You can remove your vote at any time by clicking it again, and vote again later if you change your mind.
- Votes are tied to your account, not your device — signing in from a new browser or device doesn't grant another vote.
- Unusual voting spikes (a sudden burst of votes from new or suspicious accounts) get flagged and reviewed. Votes found to be manipulated are removed, and repeat abuse can mean account suspension.
- Asking friends or followers to vote for you is fine. Paying for votes, using bots, or creating multiple accounts to vote more than once is not.
Ranking
- The all-time leaderboard ranks products by total votes since they were listed.
- The today leaderboard ranks products by votes cast since midnight UTC, and resets daily.
- Ties are broken by whichever product was listed first.
- Ranking is entirely vote-driven — there's no way to pay for a better spot on either leaderboard. That's what featured listings (below) are for instead.
Featured listings
Featured is a paid, clearly-labeled section shown above the organic leaderboard. Buying a featured slot never changes a product's actual vote count or rank on the leaderboard below it — it's a separate placement, not a boost to your ranking.
- There are 4 featured slots to start, and we may adjust the slot count or how pricing works if demand calls for it.
- Each slot works as an independent outbid auction: it starts at $20, and anyone can claim an empty slot or take an occupied one by paying at least $5 more than the current price.
- A slot has no fixed duration — you hold it until someone outbids you, with one exception: a newly claimed slot has a 24-hour minimum hold, so it can't be outbid within its first 24 hours.
- If you're outbid, your listing isn't removed — it simply drops back into the regular, vote-ranked leaderboard.
- All sales are final. There are no refunds if you're outbid, and no refunds if a featured listing is removed for a rules violation.
- A rules violation on a featured listing gets it removed outright (not just demoted), with no refund, same as any other listing.
- Featured status is always clearly labeled on the card itself — it's never disguised as an organic, vote-ranked result.
Enforcement
We can remove a listing, remove votes, or suspend an account for breaking these rules, at our discretion. If you think a listing or a removal was a mistake, contact us below and we'll take a look.
